Pastor Gennadiy Mokhnenko and his team are almost continuously serving the Ukrainian people, supporting soldiers on the front-lines and helping displaced people with daily life issues.
However, according to the pastor, one of the foremost elements in achieving victory is constant prayer to God, spiritual and moral support for the army, and gratitude to the people who support the Ukrainian nation and help bring victory closer.
Therefore, each cross that already stands on the top and all the following symbolizes gratitude to the Lord for His blessings and support, gratitude to the Ukrainian Armed Forces for their defense and resilience on the front lines, for allowing the Ukrainian people to remain on their native land, and for the approaching victory over the enemy. And undoubtedly, it is a symbol of gratitude to the partners, generous individuals, for their tireless contribution to the social projects of the Pilgrim Charity Foundation.
Climbing the mountain requires some effort, because the participants of this project not only go to the top, but also carry bags of sand and cement with them. Each cross will be securely mounted and have a name plate. The first cross, already installed in the Carpathians, is dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who tirelessly continue to fight for peace and freedom in Ukraine, as well as to the international organization Serving Orphans Worldwide, thanks to which the residents of the Pilgrim Republic children’s rehabilitation center were able to return to Ukraine and move into a newly acquired home in the Carpathians.
The pilgrims themselves actively participate in the project. They conquer the peaks, assist in installing the crosses, and pray. Every prayer directed to God is a thanksgiving for life, for the soldiers who defend the country, for their lives and strength, for victory and peace on Ukrainian land; it’s a blessing in the name of God for those who contribute to the lives of every child, every soldier, and every resident of Ukraine.
The cross is not just a symbol of support and solidarity, of anticipating victory and peace, but also genuine faith and hope, a symbol of help proven by deeds. By uniting around one goal, people can achieve a lot. The pilgrims believe in this and pray for everyone standing by, supporting Ukraine.
