Within 2009-2010 the center of defence of human right of Donetsk area encountered the urgent issue of today – defence of rights of those kids who were born by young mothers who don’t have any support from relatives. Mothers- orphans who gave birth to their kids when they were under 18 who used to live in boarding schools and were practically orphans themselves but they don’t have a state status of orphanship. So not only single mothers need help but also those who presently study in the boarding schools and vocational school and are pregnant.

Young mothers don’t have enough life expertise, support and they are unable to make the place for the kid to be warm and cosy. As a result 80% of them refuse from their own children. Eventually the children themselves suffer as they arew deprived of the right to live in family and to have a decent level of life, medical service and education.

The project is directed to render psychological and social help and to upbringing. The project renders judicial help and gives a temporal place to live as well as protects rights of those kids.

On the basis of 3 center working in Donetsk area – in Donetsk, Makeevka and Mariupol 3 places “Rooms of mother and child” have been functioning., And in each of them several mothers with their babies live. They all have their sad life strory but due to the support given each of those babies could meet the New Year with their mother. Young mother and her child At the end of 2010 at the Charity Fund “Pilgrim” the new project was started under the title “Young mother”. It is called to help young mothers with their kids who found themselves in a tough situation – as a rule they don’t have a place to stay and need help.
