The “Pilgrim” was visited my honored citizens.
The team from the partner churches of the U.S. state of North Carolina has long been not only partners but also good friends for the children and staff of the center of children’s rehabilitation “Republic Pilgrim”. For more than six years Chernous family with their children and friends leave everything and come to Ukraine to take the time for children of “ Republic Pilgrim”, where for many years they are honorary citizens.

The capital of Volga region welcomed a bike tour “A world without orphans”
Nizhniy Novgorod was visited by an unusual delegation of cyclists, according to RTR “Nizhniy Novgorod”. All of them – foster fathers and their adopted children, in total more than a hundred people. This bike tour was launched in the framework of “A world without orphans.” At the head of the this action was a pastor of the church in Mariupol and founder of the largest in the former Soviet Union rehabilitation center for children “Republic Pilgrim” – Gennady Mokhnenko – adoptive father dozens of children. On June 5 the bike tour begun to move from Kiev and finally they reached a Novgorod’s land. The correspondent of the program “Vesti – Volga region” saw how these sports families with children were welcomed in the capital of Volga region.

Bike action “A world without orphans” brought the news of the adoption to residents of Tula.
June 14 the team of “A world without orphans” had reached Tula, the correspondent of “TBN “. One of the planned actions was to hold a press conference on issues adoption.

Pilgrims traveled through Russia for the “World without orphans”
The second stage of bike tour around the world “A world without orphans” was launched June 5 directly from the main street of Ukraine – Kreschatik. In spite of the storm warning, heavy rain and thunderstorms, the participants went bike ride along the route, which ran through several regions of Ukraine (Kiev, Chernigov, Sumy) on their way to Russia. About 30 cyclists rode a total of more than two thousand miles in 25 days, passing major cities such as Kiev, Priluki, Romny, Kursk, Orel, Tula, Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas, Saransk.

Space Adventure in the Pilgrims
Recently, in Mariupol took place an annual competition “Start teenager 2012”, organized within the framework of the student charity project “With a warm heart.” This year’s theme of the contest was about space and the solar system. The main purpose of the event was to allow children of complex social categories – from boarding schools, orphanages, rehabilitation centers, to participate in high level competitions, to show their talents, get to know each other and communicate with the best students of the city of Mariupol.

Get the skills of sewing skills former street kids will be able because of help of those who care. These caring people gave to the “Pilgrim” several professional sewing machines. Because of that now children can learn to sew simple items for practical use in everyday life, and create a variety of decorations for the interior.

In Mariupol opened another children’s library
Recently, the “Republic Pilgrim” has opened a real library. Now the library contains over 1,000 books on various subjects. All this became possible after the resident of Mariupol has donated their home library to children.

After one of the services where he heard about the subject of adoption he came to the conclusion: it is better to take a child to your family and teach him before he gets into trouble and then one won’t need to correct him when he is grown up and in trouble”.

One of the basic tasks in upbringing of difficult adolescents – to teach them to notice and to remember not only their own difficulties and they have a lot of them behind their back but also to learn to respond to the need and pain of other people. It forms in them a sacrificial heart and a good character. Practice showed that it is not hard to implement these qualities to them since the pilgrims are very responsive. When they see that they are treated well they joyfully start helping others.
